Among many monuments of medieval ages, escpecially stands out one Grodziec castle.

It’s beautifully situated, on the mountain (389 m n.p.m.), which is extinct vulcano (because is placed in extinct vulcano’s land). Is also in the most part rebuild and well-kept.

It’s a late gothic monument. First mentions about this castle come from XII century (1155 and 1175) and concern defensive castle of Bobrzan (tribe) and prince Bolesława I Wysokiego. Had many owners, ones it fell into ruin and ones it was rebuild. His beauty in’s not only location but also architecture and size. For the plan of this monument consist upper castle (irregular hexagon), outer bailey, tower in the north part and keep. We can find also bascule bridge, courtyard, corridors, spiral staicase, porches and much more. Recommended for all lovers of history or monuments.
